1959: Michael Wolfinden qualified as a civil engineer specialising in the mathematical design aspects of building structures.
1968: Michael was appointed Managing Director of Murtile (GB) Ltd The Gallagher engineering subsidiary.
1976: With the age of accredited laboratories, Michael embarked on a research and development programme that successfully culminated in his first flame retardants for textiles.
1985: Michael was elected a member of Institute of Fire Engineers and continued to refine his formulations to meet the demands of fire prevention legislation.
1994: Michael incorporated Fabric Flare and the treatment facility in Beccles, Suffolk, where the processing of materials is carried out with his new Duraflam® flame resistant system.
Today: Fabric Flare is both an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 approved company and continues to offer a comprehensive and durable fireproofing solution to fabrics and timber products.
